What we do

A relationship before it is a program.

CAST works in three overlapping ways. Most women we serve meet us through one and end up held by all three.

Outreach

We go where the need is.

Our volunteers commit to mentoring relationships with the women who reach out to us from jail, prison, and other situations, through letter writing, phone calls, and visits. For many of them, ours is the only mail they get.

We also go out into the communities where homelessness, drug addiction, and prostitution overlap. We offer help and support to anyone who wants it, no conditions attached.

Aftercare

The work doesn't end at release.

CAST provides a healing community through healthy, family-like relationships, the kind most of the women we serve have never had.

We help them transition back into their communities after incarceration: paperwork, housing leads, work, and the ordinary logistics that quietly decide whether someone makes it.

When counseling, recovery, or other support is needed, we help them find it, and then we walk with them through the process rather than handing off a phone number.

Awareness

Many people don't recognize it.

CAST provides information about trafficking, globally and locally: what to look for, and how to help.

If you, your organization, or your church would like to know more about CAST, or about how trafficking affects your community, we will come and talk with you.
